Lest We Forget – May 2009

Tamils all over the world mark today, May 18th, as a Day of Remembrance, in memory of the thousands who perished in the war waged by the Sri Lankan state against the people of Tamil Eelam. 

A ‘war without witness’ in which as many as 40,000 Tamils were indiscriminately massacred in May last year and which left over 280,000 incarcerated in ‘concentration camps’ in North-East Sri Lanka. Continue reading
