A Season called Life…

14 Oct

“To everything in life there is a season”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 if your reading
There’s a time to laugh
and a time for weeping
A time to fast
And a time for eating
A time keep quiet
And a time for speaking
A time to sow
And a time for reaping
These seasons come in their own time
Without warning,
Without reason.
Sometimes, the timing… (“Kisses teeth”)
Untimely, displeasing
Sometimes, the timing… (“YES!”)
Rewarding, redeeming!

There is a purpose for every season under the Sun
It’s a plan that is good and is meant for everyone!
That includes you!
You are part of God’s creation
Part of Gods esteemed generation
Irrespective of your denominational persuasion
Surely if we leave this world in a better state than when we arrived,
That is the perfect demonstration…
of Gods love.
You see…
There is much to be done in this one life that we live
But how much time do we spend meditating to realise it?
Do we boast about tomorrow like the evil ones in James 4:16
Or do we use wisdom and number our days like a good Christian

In this season called life there is no tomorrow
So let’s try and live the remainder of our days as if another won’t follow
Let us be labourers of Christ cos the harvest is plenty
May we continually till the land and never run on empty.
On that note
I hope you leave here with a satisfied stomach
Jesus is coming back soon so we better get back to work
Make the most of this life cos you only get one
Eternity is a long time to spend somewhere
Especially if you happen to get it wrong…
Cease the day and be strong

Carpe Deum.

Turn that frown upside down!

Do you realise that you are your own worst enemy?

It is you that defeats you – regardless of what the situation may entail. Whether you have been talked down to, made to feel small and insignificant, or had your work discredited, you have let that negative influence dictate your negative response; the circumstance has penetrated your persona causing you to stay down, kissing the floor… I’m here to tell you that it’s time YOU GET UP! Quote of the Week – Sow Bountifully

I came across this quote today by the poet and novelist, Robert Louis Stevenson. We can see why he had such a prolific talent with words. His writing was an inspiration for Nobel laureates like Hemingway and Kipling.

But what can we gather from this vitalising quote? (more…)

Know Not Me

28 May

You brought me forth into this world

With pain and joy which mingled

Like blood and water eventually the cord

Was cut, now separated and singled

You raised and fed and taught me all

The lessons that life had shown thee

Behind the flesh my spirit withdraw

It’s clear you know not me (more…)

The Real Secret Ever Manifested

23 May

Prompted by Sentinel’s recent analysis of ‘The Secret’ (read here), I did a little research to qualify some of its extraordinary statements. Their website claims that the secret is quote “the most powerful law in the universe”. That it’s “the secret to prosperity, health, relationships and happiness”. For the sceptic, it even adds a sweetened hook, one that appears overtly blasphemous, claiming it’s “the secret to life”. To label this a myth and deception would be a gross understatement.

Now we may not truly discern their scheme or the mystique behind the book/ film’s cult phenomenon but we’ll do well to realise the REAL SECRET that was made known two thousand years ago – the timeless, unblemished truth that is God’s gift to the world, His Son – Jesus Christ.

This secret was revealed to ordinary shepherds in the land of Bethlehem and God is still revealing His secret to ordinary people from all walks of life today. Unlike Rhonda Byrne’s book, it is authoritative, for in Jesus we find “the way, the truth, and the life”. (John 14:6). (more…)
